Subject: Fw: Climatic change

GLOBAL WARNING REPORT . . ..
The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some
places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the
Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen , Norway . Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far
north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and
smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered
in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

I guess I should mention that this report was dated November 2, 1922 as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post.*

Well done GJ , When will we learn to take the hysterical rantings of these Greens with the large amount of salt that they predict will be covering the planet any time next week .

Oh GJ, I love that one  applause applause

As Barry said about the Greens, hysterical, but it's also there with big business. They make big money out of this panic if they can make it work!

It also allows a Government to raise subjects that may hide something else they do not want us to hear.

This my first try at posting so I hope it makes sense.

Have you noticed how “Global warming” has become “Climate Change”? Somebody hedging their bets? Too right. There is a humongous amount of money to be made from scaring people witless. When I lived in England one of the regulars in our local was a bio-chemist working for a big drugs company. He reckoned that AIDS was the best meal ticket he ever saw. As he said when you got a load of very frightened people at the top of the heap then the purse strings open big time. Especially when they are in showbiz and politics.

Most of the global warming fanatics I've come across have reminded me of religious nutters. The tree huggers and environmental protesters look and sound exactly like the CND mob back in the 60's. Soapless and hopeless.

There is big money to be made from scaring people. From big corporations to spivs flogging energy saving rubbish. In my experience ( I was a plumber) most of the solar heating arrays, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines and what have you on sale to Joe Public will NEVER make economic sense. Except to people like me who make a pretty penny installing them.

Really want to save the planet? Don't pour your money into heating an oversized house, driving a gas guzzler, buying inefficient electrical appliances. Live somewhere with a mild climate. Remember that the only private  pool that makes sense is the one your neighbour lets you use for free.

Well written Emile - and have you noticed how "solar panels" are now called "photovoltaic panels", - another scam to make us sit up and ask what they are.

As for the next door neighbours pool, no thanks. I wouldn't bath with my neighbours, so don't want to swim with them either!  Evil

Gosh, Emile, we like you already - so much that makes sense in your first posting - can't argue with any of this!

A lot of sense in there Emile. But as far as the pool goes, yes they are an expense and an extra work load, but you can't go and have a dip in your neighbours pool just before you  go to bed on a really hot evening, well not without causing a certain amount of alarm and consternation?

A soul mate as far as so called renewables are concerned. What loads of people either don't think of, or don't want to, is that when some con artist puts up a wind turbine they first build a road to the site, more often than not through virgin countryside. Then dig a huge hole and fill it with one of the materials that cause more greenhouse gasses than almost anything in its making, concrete. Then they errect a huge steel pylon that has also caused a boat load of said gasses. That's followed by huge carbon/kevlar composite blades fixed to a generator all causing the production of more gasses. And then they have the balls to turn to Joe public and brag about how they are saving the planet!

As far as greenhouse gasses are concerned, nature produces somewhere in the region of 93% of the CO2 on this Earth of ours. What we produce does make a difference, a VERY small one, so by giving these con men boat loads of money so that they can 'so called' cut the gasses production by 10% or so is not a very big figure is it? 10% of 7%,,,,   errrrrr   0.7% of the overall? One good volcanic eruption will produce enough CO2 to make a difference and there are also numerous places on Earth where the sea bad leaks methane at a hell of a rate. More than man can produce and it has been going on since the Earth was formed me-thinks?

Climate change is cyclic and has been so for the life of our planet and no matter what we do, apart from blowing it out of orbit with atomic bombs, we weill not change that. French people are now up in arms on the East coast because they are going to loose their homes because they are built directly in the face of serious flooding possibilities. They have every right to be so and should be completely recompensed by the people who cleared the planning permission for the building. Stinks of the same con in Spain doesn't it? A lot of people are going to be put out, literally, because of the climate changes, but I still don't think that there is anything much that we can do about it.

Not all of the panels are electrifical BB. Lots heat the water just like ours do and we will be turning off our immersion heater for the summer very soon. Oh, I forgot, it still needs a pump, but as that is all of 40 watt I'm not too worried. It's all been running since about 1982 so it doesn't owe anyone anything.

OK, I will stop for now.
